The DHE

My favourite and most successful pattern at the moment is
Bob Wyatt's Deer Hair Emerger or DHE for short!

The DHE's come in a variety of patterns but the quill body version is a great imitation for olive hatches.

The DHE fishes well just sitting in the water's surface film. I prefer to fish it static with only a few small twiches now and again.

The DHE

Hook: Kamasan B100, or similar curved emerger style.
Wing: Medium to fine deer hair
Body: stripped peacock quill and varnish for strength
Thorax: Dubbed hare’s mask
